Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Inclusion criteria for the autism group: (1) Confirmation of ASD diagnosis by a rehabilitation department attending physician according to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition (DSM-5) criteria; (2) Meeting the ASD diagnostic threshold on the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition (ADOS-2); (3) Age between 2 and 12 years; (4) No use of any psychotropic medication within the past 3 months; (5) Both the child and parents/guardians provided written informed consent to participate in the study. 2. Inclusion criteria for the control group: (1) Exclusion of ASD diagnosis based on assessment with the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition (ADOS-2); (2) Age between 2 and 12 years; (3) No use of any psychotropic medication within the past 3 months; (4) Both the child and parents/guardians provided written informed consent to participate in the study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Presence of focal or diffuse intracranial lesions; 2. History of severe systemic diseases, neurological disorders, or traumatic brain injury; 3. History of alcohol or substance abuse or dependence; 4. Presence of metal implants in the body, including non-removable dentures; 5. Inability to cooperate and complete the examination due to other reasons.
