Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Diabetic Kidney Disease Group: All patients had type 2 diabetes mellitus and met the diagnostic criteria for diabetic nephropathy as specified in the 2017 Chinese Guidelines for the Prevention and Treatment of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus; aged over 18 years. 2. Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus Group: Met the diagnostic criteria for type 2 diabetes mellitus as specified in the 2017 Chinese Guidelines for the Prevention and Treatment of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Patients with primary glomerulonephritis, primary nephrotic syndrome, congenital polycystic kidney disease, and other secondary renal diseases such as lupus nephritis, purpura nephritis, and hypertensive nephropathy were excluded. Also excluded were those with renal cell carcinoma, pyelocarcinoma, embryonal tumors, and those who had undergone renal surgery within the past 6 months. In the control group, individuals with underlying diseases including hypertension, diabetes mellitus, coronary heart disease, and cerebrovascular diseases were excluded by laboratory and imaging examinations, as well as those with neoplastic diseases and autoimmune diseases.
