Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Facial symmetry, complete permanent dentition, stable occlusal relationship, Class I molar relationship, no missing teeth (excluding third molars), intact occlusal surfaces, and no significant wear; smooth functional movements such as protrusive and lateral excursive movements, with no occlusal interferences;(natural dentition); 2.No obvious malocclusion, bruxism, maxillofacial muscle disorders, or temporomandibular disorders (TMD);(natural dentition); 3.No history of taking medications that affect muscle activity;(natural dentition); 4.Good general health, no systemic chronic diseases, no chronic severe periodontal disease, and ability to manage daily activities independently;(natural dentition); 5.Full-arch implant-supported fixed dental prostheses (FDPs) with favorable osseointegration between the implants and the jawbone;(implant dentition) 6.Prostheses supported by at least 4 maxillary implants and 4 mandibular implants;(implant dentition) 7.At least 12 teeth in each dental arch with occlusal contact against the opposing teeth;(implant dentition) 8.At least 6 months elapsed since the completion of the fixed prostheses after implant placement;(implant dentition) 9. Not taking drugs that affect muscle activity (dental implants).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.A history of orthodontic treatment and restorative treatment that affects occlusion; 2.Suffering from systemic acute or chronic diseases such as chronic periodontal disease, severe diabetes mellitus, severe gastrointestinal diseases, and tumors. 3.Having degenerative conditions such as unilateral chewing habit, bruxism, and temporomandibular disorders (TMD) 4.Presence of sensory or psychological abnormalities, and inability to cooperate with the study; 5.Loosening or damage of implants, abutments, or crown structures, or peri-implant diseases (for subjects with full-arch fixed prosthodontic restoration).

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Electromyographic activity,IP rate( The ratio of masticatory muscle contraction force during lateral excursion to the cusp-to-cusp position to that in the intercuspal position);Bite force value, occlusal contact area, average occlusal pressure;

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Frame of maximum bite force and the frame of maximum occlusal area;Asymmetry index of the masticatory muscles;Subjects' satisfaction with different lateral occlusion patterns;
