Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Obese group: aged 6–18 years, with BMI = 95th percentile for age- and sex-matched children (meeting the clinical diagnostic criteria for obesity), idiopathic obesity, and able to cooperate with MRI scanning and scale assessment. 2. Normal control group: age-, sex-, and other characteristics matched with the obese group; normal physical examination and scale assessment; no psychiatric or neurological diseases; no obvious organic abnormalities on conventional MRI sequences.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Obese group: Patients with neurological diseases (e.g., epilepsy), psychiatric disorders (e.g., autism, ADHD), severe metabolic diseases, or secondary obesity caused by medication, tumors, etc. Patients with contraindications to MRI examination (e.g., metal implants), claustrophobia, severe mental health problems, or those unable to complete MRI scanning were excluded. 2. Normal control group: Subjects with claustrophobia, neurological, psychiatric or psychological disorders, and those unable to complete MRI examination were excluded.
