Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients aged >=18 years undergoing cardiac surgery, diagnosed with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) according to the Chinese Guidelines for the Prevention and Treatment of Type 2 Diabetes (2024) formulated by the Chinese Medical Association, i.e., fasting venous plasma glucose >=7.0 mmol/L, or 2-hour venous plasma glucose during oral glucose tolerance test >=11.1 mmol/L, or HbA1c >=6.5%, or random venous plasma glucose >=11.1 mmol/L. 2. Meeting the criteria for perioperative heart failure: New York Heart Association (NYHA) functional class II to IV for chronic heart failure (HF), based on ejection fraction (EF) and N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) criteria.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Anemia with hemoglobin <8 g/dL. 2. Patients with acute infectious diseases (e.g., pneumonia). 3. Patients with heart failure caused by sepsis. 4. Patients with acute liver failure, acute kidney failure, or severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) with forced expiratory volume in 1 second (FEV1) <1.0 L. 5. Pregnant or breastfeeding women. 6. Use of an investigational drug (study drug) within 30 days prior to the start of the study.
