Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: (1) Age >=65 years old (2) ASA classification I–III (3) Scheduled for elective lumbar fusion surgery (4) Signed informed consent form (5) BMI 18.5 - 29.9 kg/m^²

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (1) Refusal to sign the consent form; (2) Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) score [illiterate = 2mg/dl, etc.); (8) Severe renal insufficiency (increase in serum creatinine by 0.5mg/dl, or increase by 50%, or serum creatinine > 2mg/dl, glomerular filtration rate < 60ml/(min·1.73m^2)-1, etc.); (9) Allergy and contraindication to dexmedetomidine drug; (10) Severe pulmonary dysfunction (FEV1% < 50%, etc.)
