Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. were aged 18 years or older; 2. were assessed by the medical team as requiring enteral nutrition and meeting the indications for bedside blind nasojejunal tube placement, including a. persistent dysphagia not resolving within 48 hours, b. presence of hiccups, gastroesophageal reflux, abdominal pain and distension, or gastric residual volume >=500 ml/d making nasogastric tube feeding unsuitable, 3. presence of high-risk factors for aspiration pneumonia (e.g., impaired consciousness, severe dementia, bedridden status); 3. had the patient or their family member provide written informed consent.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Severe sinusitis, facial or nasal bone fractures, or skull base fractures; 2. Gastroduodenal ulcer, esophageal and gastric varices, corrosive gastritis, esophageal stricture or obstruction; 3. History of gastric surgery; 4. Recent epistaxis, pyloric obstruction, upper gastrointestinal bleeding, or ischemic bowel disease; 5. Shock, hemodynamic instability, severe dyspnea, or other contraindications to nasojejunal tube placement; 6. Pregnancy.
