Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Age > 18 years; 2. Pathologically diagnosed with rectal malignant tumor; 3. Underwent low anterior resection (LAR) with anal sphincter preservation, or temporary enterostomy with subsequent stoma reversal; 4. Good patient compliance, with informed consent signed.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Loss to follow-up or death during the follow-up period; 2. Pre-existing poor anal function or incontinence; 3. Postoperative complications other than low anterior resection syndrome (LARS), local recurrence, or metastasis; 4. Conversion to permanent stoma; 5. More than 20 % of clinical data missing.
