Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Age 10–18 years; 2.Meeting DSM-5 diagnostic criteria for MDD as assessed by the MINI-KID interview; 3. Children’s Depression Rating Scale–Revised (CDRS-R) score = 40, and Clinical Global Impression–Severity (CGI-S) score = 4; 4. Co-occurring sleep disorder; 5. Maintained on monotherapy with antidepressant medication; 6.Written informed consent provided by the participant and their guardian.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Meeting diagnostic criteria for other psychiatric disorders, including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, alcohol or substance abuse/dependence, eating disorders, etc. 2. Intellectual disability or a score < 70 on the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children–Third Edition (WISC-III); 3.Presence of neurological diseases or organic brain disorders; 4. Suffering from conditions associated with higher exercise risk, such as hypertension or heart disease; 5. Currently undergoing systematic psychotherapy; 6.Poor performance on the 3-minute step test for cardiorespiratory fitness (score < 39 for females, < 41 for males); 7.Physical limitations preventing participation in physical exercise.
