Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1.Cervical vertebral maturation stages on lateral cephalograms are classified as CVMI-I (Initiation stage), CVMI-II (Acceleration stage), and CVMI-III (Transition stage); 2.Intraoral manifestation is Class ? dentition pattern: in the late mixed dentition or early permanent dentition stage, the overbite is greater than 5.0 mm, and the maxillary and mandibular canines and molars exhibit at least a cusp-to-cusp relationship; 3.Extraoral manifestations: The maxilla is in a normal position or slightly protruded; the mandible is retrognathic, with a harmonious facial profile after protrusion; no obvious discomfort of the temporomandibular joint is reported; the mouth-opening pattern and mouth-opening degree are basically normal; 4.Skeletal Class ? malocclusion with mandibular retrognathism (ANB angle = 5°, SNB < 78°), accompanied by a low or average mandibular plane angle (FMA <= 32°, SN-MP <= 40°).
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1.A history of orthodontic treatment; 2.A history of supernumerary teeth, congenital tooth agenesis or permanent tooth extraction (excluding third molars); 3.Severe facial asymmetry confirmed by clinical or radiographic examination; 4.Presence of systemic diseases that may affect the outcome of orthodontic treatment.
