Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1) >=18 years old 2) Patients who were treated at the Shao Yi Fu Hospital affiliated to Zhejiang University School of Medicine and whose preoperative fine needle aspiration cytology (FNA) indicated PTC, and were scheduled to undergo radical thyroid cancer surgery 3) Voluntary participants in this study and who signed the informed consent form. If the subject was unable to read the informed consent form (such as a literate subject), then a witness should observe the informed process and sign the informed consent form 4) Preoperatively, no radiofrequency or microwave ablation, alcohol injection without water, chemotherapy or targeted drug treatment was received 5) Planned to undergo laparoscopic thyroid cancer surgery via the non-inflated supraclavicular approach, and to perform right central lymph node dissection (including the dissection deep to the right recurrent laryngeal nerve) 6) Anesthesia and surgical tolerance: ASA grade I-III, able to tolerate general anesthesia and laparoscopic surgery.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1) Pregnant or lactating women 2) Patients with preoperative abnormal parathyroid function 3) Patients with distant metastasis 4) The expected survival time is less than 6 months 5) Patients with a history of malignant tumors other than thyroid cancer 6) Vulnerable groups other than illiterates, including people with mental illness, cognitive impairment, critically ill patients, and pregnant women

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Number and metastasis rate of metastatic lymph nodes deep to the right recurrent laryngeal nerve;Number of lymph nodes dissected deep to the right RLN;

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Total number of central compartment lymph nodes dissected and Number of metastatic lymph nodes;Nadvertent parathyroidectomy rate (%) ,Hypocalcemia rate (%) ,Transient hypoparathyroidism rate (%) ,Permanent hypoparathyroidism rate (%);Lymph node identification rate;Operative time, intraoperative blood loss, postoperative drainage volume, and length of hospital stay were recorded for all patients.;Injury rate of the right recurrent laryngeal nerve;
