Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Inclusion criteria for the control group: Preterm infants hospitalized with a gestational age < 37 weeks, matched with the NEC group for gestational age (±1 week), birth weight (±100g), postnatal age (±1 week), and feeding method. 2.Inclusion criteria for the NEC group: Preterm infants hospitalized with a gestational age < 37 weeks, who meet the diagnostic criteria for NEC and are confirmed by at least two neonatologists to have modified Bell's staging stage I or higher.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Exclusion criteria included: inflammatory diseases (such as pneumonia, sepsis, septicemia, peritonitis, etc.), allergic diseases (allergic enteritis, etc.), congenital gastrointestinal malformations (intestinal atresia, intestinal malrotation, gastric perforation, spontaneous intestinal perforation, etc.), complex congenital heart disease, chromosomal abnormalities, congenital genetic metabolic diseases, and infants who were withdrawn from treatment.
