Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Meeting the diagnostic criteria such as those by Fisher, with the primary site of infection originating in the perianal region. 2. Discharge diagnosis of necrotizing fasciitis (ICD code: M72.600).
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Cases of secondary infection (i.e., perineal spread secondary to intra-abdominal infection, or infection caused by trauma or postoperative anastomotic leakage). 2. Special populations including pregnant women and immunocompromised patients (e.g., HIV infection with CD4 count <200/µL, post-organ transplantation). 3. Patients with missing or incomplete medical records.
