Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: This study enrolled overweight or obese college students aged 17–23 years (BMI >=24, or body fat percentage >=25% for males and >=30% for females). Participants were required to have no underlying diseases or exercise contraindications, stable body weight with no regular exercise habits or special dietary patterns within the past 3 months, no use of medications affecting metabolism, no claustrophobia, and good cognitive function and compliance, with voluntary participation and completion of the 8-week intervention and all assessment tests.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: The exclusion criteria for this study include: age outside the specified range or BMI =5% within the past 3 months or participation in similar intervention studies; current use of medications affecting metabolism or body weight; regular exercise habits or special dietary patterns; history of alcohol or drug abuse, or claustrophobia; pregnant or lactating women; cognitive impairment or inability to complete the study requirements.
