Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1.Subthreshold Depression Group (StD): (1) Age 60 years or older; (2) Have been a long-term resident in the local area for over 20 years; (3) Assessed by a psychiatrist or above according to DSM-5, the subject exhibits depressive symptoms but does not meet the full diagnostic criteria for MDD; meanwhile, the Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS-30) score is >10 points, indicating clinically significant depressive symptoms; (4) No communication barriers or no barriers after visual or hearing correction; (5) Informed consent, voluntarily participating in this study. 2.Healthy Control Group (HC): (1) Age 60 years or older; (2) Have been a long-term resident in the local area for =20 years; (3) GDS-30 score =10 points, with no prior diagnosis of depression or other mental disorders; (4) MMSE does not meet the criteria for cognitive impairment; (5) Informed consent, voluntarily participating in this study.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria: (1) T1-weighted MRI showing cerebral infarction (lacunar infarction >15 mm) or other vascular lesions; (2) patients with severe physical illnesses who cannot tolerate the procedure; (3) diseases associated with brain tissue changes, such as brain tumors, metastatic diseases; unstable physical conditions like severe asthma; epilepsy and other neurodegenerative disorders; physical illnesses that may cause mood disorder symptoms, such as multiple sclerosis, thyroid diseases, etc.; (4) individuals screened for cognitive impairment using the Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) (MMSE score =17 for the illiterate group, =20 for the primary school group, and =24 for the secondary school and above group); (5) those with a previous diagnosis of mental disorders or currently suffering from mental disorders; (6) those with a history of depression or bipolar disorder; (7) a history of antipsychotic medication use or alcoholism within the past 2 months; (8) claustrophobia or the presence of metal implants, making MRI examination unfeasible; (9) participation in other research projects during the study period.
