Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Age >= 18 years; 2. Patients admitted to the ICU and diagnosed with sepsis or septic shock.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients diagnosed with acute myocardial infarction or acute cerebral infarction prior to ICU admission; 2. Patients diagnosed with acute myocardial infarction or acute cerebral infarction before the diagnosis of sepsis was confirmed; 3. Patients who died within 24 hours of ICU admission; 4. Acute intracranial hemorrhage; 5. Acute gastrointestinal bleeding; 6. Patients who underwent major surgery or experienced severe trauma within the past week; 7. Acute severe liver failure; 8. Severe coagulation dysfunction; 9. Platelet count < 30 × 10?/L; 10. Pregnancy or lactation.
