Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Clinical diagnosis of probable Alzheimer's disease dementia according to the National Institute of Neurological and Communicative Disorders and Stroke and the Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders Association (NINCDS-ADRDA) criteria: reports of gradual and progressive decline in memory function, disease course >= 6 months, MRI showing medial temporal lobe atrophy; 2. Age 50-75 years; 3. Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) score: 10-25; 4. Clinical Dementia Rating (CDR) score: 1-2; 5. Good visual, auditory, and speech abilities, and able to cooperate to complete neuropsychological assessments and auxiliary examinations required for the study; 6. At least one reliable caregiver; 7. Patient and/or family voluntarily sign the informed consent form.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Exclude other diseases that cause cognitive impairment, such as vascular dementia, frontotemporal dementia, etc.; 2. Patients with other central nervous system diseases, such as Parkinson's disease, epilepsy, etc.; 3. Exclude a history of severe mental illness; 4. History of substance abuse or drug dependence; 5. Combined severe dysfunction of the heart, liver, or kidneys; 6. Metal implants at the stimulation site; 7. Absolute contraindications for functional magnetic resonance imaging; 8. Continuous use of antibiotics or probiotics within the past month.
