Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Age>=18 years, regardless of gender; 2. Symptomatic intracranial atherosclerotic stenosis (sICAS): A history of ischemic cerebrovascular events (ischemic stroke or transient ischemic attack) related to the stenosis within the previous 6 months. The culprit vessels include the M1 segment of the middle cerebral artery (MCA), the intracranial segment of the internal carotid artery (ICA), the intracranial segment of the vertebral artery (VA), and the basilar artery (BA). 3. Stenosis of the culprit vessel >=70% as confirmed by DSA. 4. Interventional revascularization (balloon angioplasty or stenting) of the culprit vessel was indicated and approved by the consensus of the Interventional Treatment Center at our hospital. 5. Complete clinical records, including pre-procedural (within 7 days) and post-procedural (within 2 days) MRI with DWI sequences conducted at our center.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Endovascular treatment under cardiopulmonary bypass; 2. Concomitant extracranial cerebrovascular stenosis requiring simultaneous revascularization; 3. Emergency endovascular treatment for acute ischemic stroke or endovascular treatment for progressive stroke; 4. Presence of atrial septal defect (ASD) or ventricular septal defect (VSD); 5. Concurrent other neurointerventional procedures, such as concurrent aneurysm embolization; 6. For patients who underwent multiple endovascular treatments at our hospital during the study period, only the first procedure will be included, with all subsequent treatments excluded.
