Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Diagnosed with cataract and requiring cataract surgery at the Department of Ophthalmology, the Second Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical niversity; 2. Divided into the following three groups: (1) Cataract without diabetes; (2) Cataract with non-proliferative diabetic reinopathy; (3) Cataract with proliferative diabetic retinopathy; 3. Voluntarily participated in this study and signed the informed consent form.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Subjects with current or past chronic gastrointestinal diseases and systemic infectious diseases (e.g., acute pneumonia, uveitis); 2. Subjects who received antibiottreatment or probiotic supplementation within the past 1-3 months; 3. Subjects with cancer, autoimmune diseases, or severe hepatic or renal dysfunction, or a history of thes conditions; 4. Patients with ocular trauma, ocular inflammation, or concurrent other vitreoretinal diseases, such as glaucoma, age-related macular degenion, retinal artery or vein occlusion, etc.; 5. History of ocular surgery or fundus laser treatment within the past 6 months.
