Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria for patients with obesity and T2DM: 1. Age 18-60 years; 2. Newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes patients according to the 1999 WHO criteria: typical diabetes symptoms (polyuria, polydipsia, polyphagia, unexplained weight loss, etc.) and random plasma glucose >=11.1 mmol/L, or fasting venous plasma glucose >=7.0 mmol/L, or 2-hour OGTT plasma glucose >=11.1 mmol/L; for those without typical diabetes symptoms, confirmation is required on another day before diagnosis can be established; diagnosis duration less than 6 months, with HbA1c 7%–9%; 3. Body mass index (BMI) >=24 kg/m²; 4. No prior use of any oral hypoglycemic drugs or insulin therapy; 5. Patient voluntarily signs the informed consent and has good adherence. Inclusion criteria for normal control group 1. Matched with patients by age, gender, education level, and handedness at enrollment; 2. No history of diabetes.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria for patients with obesity and T2DM: 1. Acute complications such as diabetes ketoacidosis, hyperglycemia and hyperosmolality, and lactic acidosis have occurred in the past three months; 2. Patients with other endocrine diseases, severe heart diseases (NYHA classification > III), liver and kidney dysfunction(ALT elevated >= 2.5 times the normal value, SCr elevated >= 132 µmol/L),hematologic diseases, autoimmune diseases, serious infectious diseases and malignant tumors, acute and chronic gastroenteritis, inflammatory bowel diseases, peptic ulcers and other gastrointestinal diseases that can lead to abdominal distention, constipation, dyspepsia and other gastrointestinal diseases; 3. Personal history or family history of medullary thyroid cancer, multiple endocrine neoplasia syndrome, history of pancreatitis, and patients with abnormal thyroid function; 4.History of gastrointestinal surgery within the past year; 5. People with a history of mental disorders, smoking, alcohol abuse and drug abuse, pregnancy and lactation; 6. Magnetic Resonance Imaging Contraindications. Exclusion Criteria for the Normal Control Group 1. Individuals with organic brain lesions, severe mental disorders, physical disabilities, or serious organ diseases; 2. Individuals who smoke, abuse alcohol or drugs, or are pregnant or breastfeeding; 3. Contraindications to MRI examination
