Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1.Growing patients with skeletal Angle Class II division 1 malocclusion; 2.Newly diagnosed patients from the Department of Orthodontics, Shanghai Ninth People's Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, and its sub-centers; 3.Age: 10–16 years old; 4.Radiographic inclusion criteria: Pog-N-Per > 6 mm; 5.Occlusal inclusion criteria: Overjet > 5 mm;
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: (1) the history of congenital or hereditary systemic diseases that may lead to facial dysgenesis; (2) acquired diseases affecting facial development such as severe facial trauma and infection; (3) a history of TMJ symptoms (including clicking, pain, limited mouth opening, etc.); (4) patients with mental disorders who cannot normally cooperate with orthodontic treatment; (5) previous orthodontic treatment history; (6) obvious mandibular deviation (pogonion deviation > 3mm); (7) the main cause of the disease was overdevelopment of the maxilla, while the mandible was normal.
