Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Patients scheduled for elective video-assisted thoracoscopic (VATS) segmentectomy or lobectomy under general anesthesia 2.American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) physical status classification grade I–III 3.Aged 18–64 years 4.Body mass index (BMI) 18.5–28 kg/m^2 5.Voluntarily participate in the study and sign the informed consent form

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.History of prior pulmonary surgery 2.Acute respiratory tract infection within 2 weeks prior to surgery 3.Severe pre-existing pulmonary diseases, such as pulmonary infection, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), bronchiectasis, asthma, etc. 4.Contraindications to the application of positive end-expiratory pressure (PEEP), including elevated intracranial pressure, bronchopleural fistula, hypovolemic shock, right heart failure, etc. 5.Severe cardiac dysfunction before surgery (New York Heart Association [NYHA] class >= III) 6.Preoperative hepatic or renal insufficiency 7.Pregnancy
