Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Age 40-80 years old, no gender restrictions; 2. Ultrasound diagnosis of internal carotid artery stenosis based on established diagnostic criteria (2006, Xuanwu Hospital, Capital Medical University), with vascular ultrasound confirming =50% stenosis in the proximal segment of the internal carotid artery or the middle to distal segment of the common carotid artery; 3. Willingness to undergo super-resolution ultrasound examination; 4. Patients who agree to sign the informed consent form
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Non-atherosclerotic carotid artery stenosis (e.g., carotid artery dissection, Takayasu arteritis, fibromuscular dysplasia, etc.); 2. Severe stenosis (=70%) or occlusion in the intracranial segment of the internal carotid artery or the middle cerebral artery on the same side as the lesion; 3. Ischemic stroke of cardiogenic embolism origin; 4. Presence of acute or chronic infections, hemorrhagic diseases, coagulation disorders, or other severe systemic conditions; 5. Prior revascularization treatments on the same side, such as carotid endarterectomy, vascular bypass grafting, or carotid artery stenting; 6. Poor-quality ultrasound images; 7. Allergy to ultrasound contrast agents; 8. Any other conditions deemed unsuitable for participation in this trial, with reasons for exclusion to be specified;

| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| Quantitative parameters from super-resolution ultrasound (number of microbubbles tracked per second, average length of microbubble trajectories, microbubble trajectory velocity, blood flow perfusion index, etc.);Conventional ultrasound characteristics of plaque (including plaque thickness, length, echogenicity properties (based on Carotid Plaque-RADS classification), presence of complex features such as ulceration or thrombus);Degree of carotid stenosis; | — |
