Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Inclusion Criteria for Autoimmune Gastritis: (1) Diagnosed with autoimmune gastritis based on endoscopic and histopathological findings; (2) Negative for Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) as determined by the C13 urea breath test; (3) Patients who consent to provide saliva and gastric mucosal samples for this study and sign the informed consent form. 2. Inclusion Criteria for H. pylori–Associated Atrophic Gastritis: (1) Diagnosed with type B atrophic gastritis based on endoscopic and histopathological findings; (2) Positive for Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) as determined by the C13 urea breath test; (3) Classified as O2/O3 according to the Kimura–Takemoto classification; (4) Patients who consent to provide saliva and gastric mucosal samples for this study and sign the informed consent form.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Exclusion Criteria for Autoimmune Gastritis : (1) History of upper gastrointestinal surgery, or prior antitumor therapy; (2) Age < 18 years; (3) Use of immunosuppressants, antibiotics, or probiotics for more than 4 weeks within the past 6 months; (4) Recent history of oral diseases, including oral infection, inflammation, pustules, ulcers, benign or malignant oral masses, periodontal disease, or other oral conditions; (5) Loss of more than 8 teeth due to any cause; (6) History of complicated esophageal diseases, inflammatory bowel disease, hematologic disorders, or rheumatic autoimmune diseases; (7) Inability to complete follow-up or presence of other factors affecting treatment compliance. 2.Exclusion Criteria for H. pylori–Associated Atrophic Gastritis (1) History of upper gastrointestinal surgery, or prior antitumor therapy ; (2) Age < 18 years; (3) Use of immunosuppressants, antibiotics, or probiotics for more than 4 weeks within the past 6 months; (4) Recent history of oral diseases, including oral infection, inflammation, pustules, ulcers, benign or malignant oral masses, periodontal disease, or other oral conditions; (5) Loss of more than 8 teeth due to any cause; (6) History of complicated esophageal diseases, inflammatory bowel disease, hematologic disorders, or rheumatic autoimmune diseases; (7) Inability to complete follow-up or presence of other factors affecting treatment compliance. 3.Exclusion Criteria for Healthy Controls: (1) Presence of endoscopically confirmed lesions, including atrophic gastritis, reflux esophagitis, upper gastrointestinal tumors, dysplasia, ulcers, erosions, or submucosal lesions; (2) Refusal to provide saliva and gastric biopsy specimens; (3) Age < 18 years; (4) Use of immunosuppressants, antibiotics, or probiotics for more than 4 weeks within the past 6 months; (5) Recent self-reported history of oral infection, inflammation, pustules, ulcers, benign/malignant oral masses, periodontal disease, or other oral conditions; (6) Loss of more than 8 teeth due to any cause; (7) History of complicated esophageal diseases, inflammatory bowel disease, hematologic disorders, or rheumatic autoimmune diseases.
