Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Aged 18-75 years; 2. Patients visiting the gastrointestinal surgery ward or outpatient clinic (including patients with normal uric acid levels and patients with high uric acid levels).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. oral condition: serious periodontal disease, gingival bleeding (blood pollution will seriously affect saliva test results), and oral ulcer. 2. drug effect: taking drugs (such as anticholinergic drugs) that are known to significantly change salivary secretion rate or pH. 3. acute infection or stress state; 4. poor compliance: unable to cooperate to complete the saliva collection process.
