Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Age >= 18 years; 2. Diagnosed with type 2 diabetes according to the WHO 1999 diagnostic criteria during the baseline period; 3. Had at least two serum uric acid test records during the baseline period (at least 3 months apart); 4. No diagnosis of diabetic high-risk foot or diabetic foot disease (IWGDF Grade 0) at the start or throughout the baseline period.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Presence of severe hepatic or renal insufficiency (eGFR < 30 ml/min/1.73m²), malignancy, or history of organ transplantation during the baseline period; 2. Long-term use of urate-lowering drugs during the baseline period; 3. Patients with above-ankle amputation.
