Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1.Patients who were diagnosed with acne scars in the outpatient department of dermatology in our hospital and received radiofrequency microneedling treatment for acne scars for the first time in the laser center of our hospital's dermatology department during the period from January 1, 2021 to December 31, 2023. 2.Patients who were clinically diagnosed as grade 2 or above according to the Goodman & Baron grading system before treatment, i.e., those with visible atrophic scars which can be further subdivided into three types: icepick scars (also referred to as V-shaped scars), boxcar scars (also referred to as U-shaped scars), and rolling scars (also referred to as M-shaped scars). 3.Patients aged 18 years or older, regardless of gender.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1.Patients with incomplete baseline and follow-up data. 2.Patients who received retinoid therapy or other medications during the course of radiofrequency microneedling treatment. 3.Patients with facial skin conditions such as wounds, infections, herpes simplex or other herpesvirus infections during the course of radiofrequency microneedling treatment. 4.Patients who were pregnant or breastfeeding during the course of radiofrequency microneedling treatment. 5.Patients with a history of keloids. 6.Patients with implanted cardiac pacemakers or other electronic implants. 7.Patients with severe organic lesions of major organs such as the heart, liver, lungs and kidneys. 8.Patients with borderline thrombocytopenia; 9.Patients with hemodynamic instability; 10.Patients with leukemia.
