Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Age 12–17 years; 2. Diagnosed with anxiety disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, depressive disorder, or bipolar disorder according to the DSM-5 criteria by a child psychiatrist of attending physician rank or higher. The Chinese version of the Kiddie Schedule for Affective Disorders and Schizophrenia for School-Age Children-Present and Lifetime version (K-SADS-PL) will be used for semi-structured interview to confirm the diagnosis in a standardized manner. In case of discrepancy between clinical diagnosis and K-SADS-PL assessment, the final diagnosis will be determined through review and discussion by two child psychiatrists of attending physician rank or higher; 3. CGI-S score >= 4; 4. Clinically stable mental state, and the attending physician confirms that the adolescent can safely participate in 60-minute group music sessions; 5. The adolescent and their guardian have shown clear commitment to the group and signed the written informed consent form.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Suffering from severe schizophrenia, active psychotic symptoms, severe substance use disorder, repeated severe suicidal and impulsive behaviors, etc.; 2. Unable to complete the questionnaires even with assistance; 3. Having participated in other music therapy recently.
