Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.School-age children, 6-12 years old; 2.Diagnosis of obesity, with BMI >= 95th percentile; 3.Normal body size, with BMI between the 5th and 85th percentiles; 4. Provision of assent/consent (along with parental or guardian consent) to provide saliva samples and participate in the follow-up study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Use of antibiotics / systemic antimicrobial agents within the past 3 months, or long-term oral medication (e.g., chronic hormonal therapy). 2. Extensive dental treatment or acute flare-up of oral inflammation within the recent month. 3. Presence of severe systemic diseases (e.g., congenital metabolic disorders, severe immunodeficiency, digestive system diseases). 4. Refusal or inability to cooperate with the sampling procedure.
