Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. The ventriculomegaly group includes fetuses diagnosed with lateral ventriculomegaly (mild, moderate, or severe), 2. The control group includes fetuses without structural brain abnormalities and with lateral ventricular width within the normal range. 3. Participants in both groups must meet the following criteria: pregnant women at a gestational age of 24 weeks or greater who require termination of pregnancy for medical indications; completion of relevant prenatal imaging examinations, including ultrasonography and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI); and provision of written informed consent by the pregnant women, indicating their willingness to participate in the study and to provide relevant biological specimens.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Fetuses with other severe structural malformations or known chromosomal abnormalities; 2. Pregnant women or fetuses with additional medical indications for termination of pregnancy prior to induction of labor; 3. Inability to obtain qualified fetal brain tissue samples or complete imaging data; 4. The presence of other ethical or medical risks in the pregnant women or fetuses that cannot be reasonably excluded.
