Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. The birth dates of the children are from January 1, 2016 to December 31, 2022. There is at least one medical record in the HIS system of Beijing Luhe Hospital affiliated to Capital Medical University and Beijing Tongzhou Maternal and Child Health Hospital from January 1, 2016 to December 31, 2023. The type of current address and household registration information are used to determine if they belong to the permanent residents of Tongzhou District; children with valid identity recognition information and complete demographic information in the HIS system. 2. Inclusion criteria for the breakthrough case group: Children aged 1-15 years old, meeting the clinical diagnosis or laboratory diagnosis case definition of chickenpox, with a clear history of more than one dose of chickenpox vaccine as the research subject, and the case consents to participate in the survey. 3. Inclusion criteria for the primary case group: Children aged 1-15 years old, meeting the clinical diagnosis or laboratory diagnosis case definition of chickenpox, without a history of chickenpox vaccine vaccination, and consents to participate in the survey. 4. Inclusion criteria for the control group: Children aged 1-15 years old, never diagnosed with chickenpox by medical institutions and without any clinical symptoms of chickenpox, with at least one dose of chickenpox vaccine vaccination history, and consents to participate in the survey.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Children whose registered residential addresses in the Hospital Information System (HIS) of Beijing Luhe Hospital Affiliated to Capital Medical University and Tongzhou Maternal and Child Health Hospital of Beijing are outside Tongzhou District;Children who have not been registered in the Tongzhou District Immunization Program Information System; Children with missing key information such as names and ID numbers. 2.Individuals with an unknown history of varicella vaccination; or those who have received varicella vaccine with an interval of less than 42 days between the vaccination date and the onset of the current rash; or those who refuse to participate in the survey. 3.Individuals with an unknown history of varicella immunity. 4.Individuals who have an unclear history of varicella infection or an unknown history of varicella immunity.
