Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Case group: 1. Meet the diagnostic criteria for acute ischemic stroke in the "Guidelines for Diagnosis and Treatment of Acute Ischemic Stroke 2018": (1) Acute onset; (2) Focal neurological deficits (numbness or weakness on one side of the face or limb, speech impairment, etc.), occasionally generalized neurological deficits; (3) Presence of a responsible lesion on imaging or symptoms/signs lasting >=24 hours; (4) Exclusion of non-vascular causes; (5) CT/MRI of the brain excludes intracerebral hemorrhage. 2. Complete routine laboratory tests and examinations including cervical artery ultrasound, transcranial color Doppler ultrasound, and magnetic resonance angiography of the head after admission. 3. Age >=14 years. Control group: Patients undergoing routine head MRI with diffusion-weighted imaging, head magnetic resonance angiography, and bilateral carotid artery ultrasound during the same period, with no evidence of acute cerebral infarction.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Case group: 1. History of atrial fibrillation; severe cardiac, hepatic, or renal insufficiency; severe infection, chronic inflammatory, or autoimmune diseases; history of tumors in any organ; recent use of anti-inflammatory medications; recent trauma or surgery. 2. Other diseases causing neurological deficits, such as encephalitis. 3. Incomplete medical history records. 4. Age <14 years.
