Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Consecutive patients admitted to the ICUs of two tertiary-grade-A hospitals between May 2022 and May 2024. 2.Age >= 18 years; 3.Meeting the Sepsis-3.0 diagnostic criteria; 4.ICU stay >= 48 hours with at least one documented ionized calcium (iCa) measurement; 5.Initial serum ionized calcium (iCa) < 1.15 mmol/L; 6.Only data from the first ICU admission during the same hospitalization were evaluated for patients readmitted during that stay.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Patients receiving renal replacement therapy (RRT); 2.Patients with confirmed parathyroid dysfunction or bony metastasis from malignancy. 3.Death or ICU discharge occurring within 24 hours; 4.Incomplete calcium data or >20% missing values in key covariates;
