Lower extremity orthopedic surgery in elderly patients

Interventions

Control group:Patients underwent general anaesthesia alone.
Experimental group:Patients received iliac fascia block under ultrasound guidance in addition to general anaesthesia (0.33% ropivacaine 30ml, dexamethasone 5mg).

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: (1) ASA grades I~II (ASA: American Society of Anesthesiology); (2) Age >=65 years, voluntarily participating in this study and signing the informed consent form; (3) Surgery duration more than 1 hour; (4) Patients undergoing hip and lower limb orthopaedic surgery (hip surgery, lower limb surgery); (5) Patients able to communicate verbally and in writing; (6) No neurological diseases or brain function impairments; (7) Patients not recently taking neuropsychiatric medications and without alcohol abuse; (8) Patients without severe cardiovascular or pulmonary diseases.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (1) Severe liver and kidney dysfunction; (2) Patients who may be transferred to other departments (ICU, cardiology, respiratory, etc.) after surgery; (3) Patients with incomplete follow-up data.
