Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria: patients aged >= 18 years, scheduled to undergo cardiac surgery with cardiopulmonary bypass, classified as ASA physical status II–III, who agree to participate in this study and have signed the informed consent form.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria:patients who are unable to communicate due to coma, severe dementia, or language barriers; those already receiving mechanical ventilation before surgery; those requiring circulatory support such as intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP); patients with airway obstructive diseases, obesity (BMI > 30), psychiatric disorders, severe dysfunction of the brain, lungs, liver, or kidneys; severe heart failure (NYHA class IV) with an ejection fraction < 30%; emergency surgeries; and repeat cardiac surgeries.
