Experimental group:Experimental group: received Schroth exercises plus asymmetric spinal stabilization exercises (SE?+?ASSE).
Control group:Control group (CG) received physiotherapeutic scoliosis?specific exercises (PSSE) incorporating symmetrical spinal stabilization training.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Criteria for AIS patients: 1. Diagnosed with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS), confirmed by full spine X-ray in standing position, with the main Cobb angle of the X-ray ranging from 10 to 45 degrees; 2. Age between 8 and 18 years old; 3. Risser score ranging from 0 to 4; 4. No history of spinal or lower limb surgery; 5. No congenital vertebral deformity; 6. No psychological or mental illness; 7. The subject and their guardian have signed a written informed consent form. Criteria for Healthy Adolescents: 1. Age 10-18 years, gender and age match with AIS; 2. Pre-rotation test is negative (ATR < 5°), no history of scoliosis; when necessary, spinal appearance screening/ultrasound or low-dose imaging is conducted to rule out significant curvature; 3. No diseases affecting balance control or nervous, muscular, or skeletal systems; 4. The subject and the guardian sign a written informed consent form.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Non-idiopathic scoliosis: congenital, neuromuscular, syndromic, or scoliosis secondary to tumor, infection, or trauma; 2. Primary curve Cobb angle > 45° on X-ray; 3. Central or peripheral nervous system disorders, significant vestibular dysfunction, or severely impaired vision despite correction that affects balance testing; 4. Acute or chronic musculoskeletal injury or acute exacerbation of pain (within the past 3 months) that affects standing tasks; 5. Skin conditions unsuitable for electrode placement (e.g., extensive dermatitis, severe rash, contact allergy); 6. Cognitive or comprehension impairment.
