Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Pathologically confirmed rectal adenocarcinoma; 2.Clinically staged as locally advanced (cT3-4N0-2M0); 3.Age greater than 18 years; 4.Underwent radical rectal cancer resection with intestinal anastomosis at Wuhan Union Hospital; 5.Complete clinical, surgical, and follow-up data available.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Presence of confirmed distant metastasis or concurrent tumors in other organs (M1) identified on preoperative evaluation; 2.Underwent Hartmann's procedure or abdominoperineal resection without anastomosis; 3.Emergency surgery (e.g., due to obstruction, perforation, etc.); 4.Special populations: children, pregnant or lactating women, and patients with psychiatric or psychological disorders; 5.Presence of other malignant tumors; 6.Patients with other concomitant primary malignancies.
