Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Part One: (1) Inclusion criteria for the observation group: Inclusion criteria: 1) Meet the DSM-5 diagnostic criteria for NSSI and depressive disorders; 2) No treatment, including biological, physical, or psychological therapy, within the past 2 weeks prior to inclusion, aged 12–18 years; 3) Signed informed consent, able to attend visits on time during the observation period, and demonstrate good compliance with the study; 4) Able to communicate normally, complete assessment scales independently or with the help of a guardian, and understand the content of the scales. (2) Inclusion criteria for the control group: Same as Group A, except not meeting the DSM-5 diagnostic criteria for NSSI. 2. Part Two: (1) Aged 6–23 years; (2) Have scars on the arms, regardless of whether the scars are old or new; (3) Signed informed consent; (4) Able to communicate normally, complete assessment scales independently or with the help of a teacher, and understand the content of the scales.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Severe organic brain diseases or other serious systemic diseases, such as encephalitis, brain tumors, brain trauma, congenital brain malformations, immune inflammatory diseases, endocrine and metabolic disorders, etc. 2. Other mental disorders except depressive disorder, organic mental disorders, schizophrenia, autism, mental retardation, borderline personality disorder, impulse control disorder, drug abuse, etc. 3. Arm tattoos, scars (not caused by NSSI), trauma, deformity, etc. 4. Poor compliance, any reason that may prevent completion of the 3-month follow-up or expected life less than 3 months.
