Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Age 60–90 years; 2. No history of severe allergies; no allergies to oats, oat bran, probiotics, or their products; 3. No severe gastrointestinal diseases (including active peptic ulcers or gastrointestinal bleeding; severe gastrointestinal motility disorders; advanced liver cirrhosis with gastrointestinal complications; severe malabsorption syndrome or short bowel syndrome; malignant tumors with significant gastrointestinal symptoms); 4. No significant changes in lifestyle during the trial period (including physical activity levels and sleep patterns).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Health Status: A. Chronic Diseases: Diabetes (whole blood glucose, two repeated fasting blood glucose concentrations =6.7 mmol/L and/or venous plasma, two repeated fasting blood glucose concentrations >=7.8 mmol/L); Hypertension (systolic >=160 mmHg and/or diastolic>=100 mmHg); Severe cardiac conditions, including patients with acute cardiovascular events, severe arrhythmias, or severe heart failure (patients with mild stable cardiac conditions may be included, subject to clinical assessment of safety for study participation). B. Other Serious Health Conditions: Any diagnosed cancer; history of major gastrointestinal surgery; severe liver disease (including active hepatitis, fatty liver disease, cirrhosis) and kidney disease (chronic kidney disease stage 3 or higher, including severe renal impairment); other conditions such as infectious diseases. 2. Mental Health Status: History of severe anxiety or depression; 3. Cognitive Status: Individuals diagnosed with cognitive impairment, such as Alzheimer's disease or other types of dementia. 4. Medication History: Use of the following medications within the past month or planned use: antibiotics, acid suppressants, laxatives, anti-diarrheal medications, probiotics, and prebiotic preparations.
