Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1) Children, aged 5-12 years; 2) ASA classification I or II; 3) Scheduled for tonsillectomy or adenoidectomy; 4) Parents agree to participate in the study and sign the informed consent form
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: (1) Left-handedness; (2) Non-native Chinese speakers; (3) Deafness or hearing impairment; (4) History of neurological or psychiatric disorders or family history of hereditary neuropsychiatric diseases; (5) Developmental language or cognitive impairment; (6) History of sleep disorders; (7) Severe congenital diseases, such as cardiovascular diseases, respiratory diseases, etc.; (8) Maternal aphasia or absence. (9) Major life changes occurring within one month before the surgery (e.g., parental divorce or school transfer)
