Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Patients with COPD with acute exacerbations were selected based on admission diagnosis. Acute exacerbation is defined as COPD patients exhibiting two or more major symptoms (dyspnea, purulent sputum, or increased sputum volume) for >=2 consecutive days, or at least one major symptom and at least one minor symptom (runny nose/nasal congestion, wheezing, sore throat, or cough).
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients admitted due to shortness of breath caused by bronchial asthma or other reasons (heart failure, arrhythmia, pulmonary edema, pneumothorax, or pulmonary embolism); 2. Severe immunosuppression (manifestations of AIDS, organ transplantation, or neutropenia).
