Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Children with TD 1. Meeting the diagnostic criteria for TD; 2. Aged 3–18 years; 3. Having no history of medication treatment in the past month; and free of MRI contraindications (e.g., no cardiac pacemaker implanted in the body, no metallic foreign bodies in the eyes/ears, no severe claustrophobia, and no uncontrolled epilepsy); 4. Volunteering to participate in the study with good compliance; providing written informed consent, and agreeing to comply with the requirements of the study protocol. Healthy Children 1. Being healthy children without any underlying diseases; 2. Aged 3–18 years; 3. Having no history of medication treatment in the past month; and free of MRI contraindications (e.g., no cardiac pacemaker implanted in the body, no metallic foreign bodies in the eyes/ears, no severe claustrophobia, and no uncontrolled epilepsy); 4. Volunteering to participate in the study with good compliance; providing written informed consent, and agreeing to comply with the requirements of the study protocol.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Children with TD 1. Having received pharmacological intervention or treatment in the past month; 2. Having a history of respiratory tract infection or known history of streptococcal infection-related diseases in the past month; 3. Having secondary tic disorders induced by certain drugs (e.g., stimulants) or diseases (e.g., Huntington’s chorea, post-viral encephalitis, etc.); having habitual spasms; having other concurrent diseases with unstable conditions; or having comorbid mental disorders such as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), depression, anxiety disorder, etc.; 4. Having a history of other systemic diseases involving the nervous system, cardiovascular system, etc.; 5. Having not signed the informed consent form. Healthy Children 1. Having a history of other systemic diseases involving the nervous system, cardiovascular system, etc.; 3. Having not signed the informed consent form.
