Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Age >= 18 years; 2. ASA physical status II–III; 3. A confirmed diagnosis of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM); 4. Scheduled to undergo elective laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy (LSG).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Severe cardiac, hepatic, or renal insufficiency; 2. A definite history of neuropsychiatric disorders or long-term use of central nervous system medications; 3. Preoperative Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) score < 24 (illiterate <= 17; primary school education <= 20); 4. Severe sensory impairment that would affect follow-up assessments; 5. Unclear medication history, uncertain duration of medication use, or inability to recall medication use; 6. History of surgery under general anesthesia within the past 3 months; 7. Participation in another clinical trial within the past 30 days.
