Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1.Unilateral or bilateral onset, with a history of long-term ear fullness or hearing loss; 2.otoscopic examination reveals total inward retraction of the entire pars tensa of the tympanic membrane, disappearance of the air-containing space in the middle ear, corresponding to Sadé classification grade III–IV; 3.pure-tone audiometry shows conductive or mixed hearing loss, with an air–bone gap (ABG) >= 15 dB HL.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1.In the acute phase of otitis media; 2.with a history of previous ear surgery; 3.complicated by specific diseases affecting Eustachian tube function (e.g., history of radiotherapy for nasopharyngeal carcinoma, cleft palate and its repair); 4.with severe nasal and sinus disease that precludes cooperation with TMM testing.
