Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Scale development stage (qualitative study): Patient inclusion criteria: 1. Diagnosed with CKD4-5 stage of chronic kidney disease according to KDIGO guidelines; 2. Patients diagnosed by doctors as about to start hemodialysis treatment and those who have already started hemodialysis treatment (=18 years old and able to independently complete research; 4. Voluntarily participate in this study. Medical inclusion criteria: 1. Engaged in nephrology treatment or nursing work; 2. Intermediate or above professional title. 3.Voluntarily participate in this study. Inclusion criteria of family members: 1.The main family caregivers of pre dialysis adult patients who are diagnosed by doctors to be about to start hemodialysis treatment and who have started hemodialysis treatment (= 18 years old and able to independently complete research; 4.Voluntarily participate in this study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Scale development stage (qualitative research): Exclusion criteria for patients: 1. Patients with severe mental illness or cognitive impairment who are unable to cooperate with the researchers; 2. Merge other serious life-threatening diseases (such as advanced malignant tumors); 3. Pregnant or lactating women; 4. Acute kidney dysfunction or other reasons require temporary hemodialysis. Exclusion criteria for family members: 1. Caregivers themselves suffer from severe cognitive impairment, mental illness, or acute illness, and are unable to participate in interviews normally. Reliability and validity testing of the scale: Exclusion criteria for patients: 1. Merge other serious life-threatening diseases, severe mental illnesses, and cognitive impairments that prevent cooperation with researchers; 2. Pregnant or lactating women; 3. Acute kidney dysfunction or other reasons require temporary hemodialysis.
