Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Diagnosis meets the 1984 revised New York classification criteria for ankylosing spondylitis (AS): (1) Clinical criteria: 1) Low back pain and morning stiffness lasting >=3 months, improved by activity but not relieved by rest; 2) Restricted lumbar spine mobility in flexion and lateral bending directions; 3) Chest expansion less than age- and sex-matched normal values; (2) Radiographic criteria: bilateral sacroiliitis >= grade 2 or unilateral sacroiliitis grade 3–4: 1) Grade 0: normal; 2) Grade I: suspicious changes; 3) Grade II: mild abnormality with localized erosion/sclerosis but normal joint space; 4) Grade III: definite abnormality with moderate or progressive sacroiliitis, showing >=1 of the following changes (erosion, sclerosis, joint space widening/narrowing, or partial ankylosis); 5) Grade IV: severe abnormality with complete joint ankylosis; 2. Age over 16 years; 3. Patient has capacity to independently provide informed consent (all outpatient and inpatient participants must sign informed consent, including retrospective data collection and prospective enrolled participants)
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Previous history of hip surgery; 2. A previous history of definite trauma to the hip; 3. Comorbid hip disease of other etiologies.
