Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Age >= 18 years old, gender is not limited; 2. clear diagnosis of diabetes mellitus (including type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus) based on: (1) doctor's clear diagnosis; (2) fasting blood glucose (FPG) >= 126 mg/dl; (3) glycated haemoglobin (HbA1c) >= 6.5%; (4) receiving glucose-lowering drugs or insulin treatment (any of them can be satisfied); 3. complete clinical data, including indicators required for CTI calculation (CRP, triglycerides, FPG) and indicators related to DN diagnosis (urine albumin/creatinine ratio, UACR; estimated glomerular filtration rate, eGFR); 4. Traceability of patients' medical records and informed consent (due to the retrospective nature of the study, informed consent could be waived with the approval of the hospital's ethics committee, or anonymisation could be used).
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. aged <18 years; 2. non-diabetic patients; 3. missing key laboratory data (CRP, triglycerides, FPG, GGT, UA, UACR, eGFR); 4. other renal diseases (e.g. chronic glomerulonephritis, lupus nephritis, obstructive nephropathy, etc.); 5. combination of malignant tumour, serious infection, liver failure and other serious diseases affecting the study index; 6. incomplete or untraceable medical records.
