Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Children first presenting to the pediatric outpatient or emergency department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Naval Medical University between January 1, 2019, and December 31, 2023; 2. With clinical manifestations of influenza-like illness (ILI), such as fever, headache, myalgia, and cough; 3. Nasopharyngeal swab specimens collected for influenza virus antigen or nucleic acid testing; 4. Confirmed diagnosis of influenza A virus infection; 5. Illness duration <=3 days (72 hours) at first presentation; 6. Age between 0 and 16 years.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Incomplete clinical data collection; 2. Positive for influenza B virus detection; 3. Positive for SARS-CoV-2 infection; 4. History of close contact with influenza cases (for negative control group); 5. Diagnosed outside this hospital (e.g., received treatment prior to arrival); 6. Did not use the first-presenting complete blood count result among multiple tests; 7. Children under 1 year or over 16 years of age.
