Trial group: Carbohydrate-loading group:400 mL of 12.5% carbohydrate beverage administered 2 hours before surgery
Control group: Standard fasting group:No intake of sugary beverages, only small amounts of clear water allowed

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Age 50–80 years; 2. Primary knee OA; 3. ASA I–III; 4. Undergoing unilateral TKA; 5. Willing to comply with follow-up;

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Poorly controlled diabetes; 2. Gastric emptying disorder; 3. Complex revision; 4. Severe liver, kidney, heart, or lung disease; 5. Psychiatric disorder;

Area under the curve (AUC) of postoperative fatigue scores within 0–72 hours;

MeasureTime frame
Secondary outcomes: Pain AUC, opioid consumption, time to first ambulation, step count, PONV, length of hospital stay, 30-day complications;
