Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria were as follows: age >= 65 years; ASA physical status classification I–III; and patients scheduled to undergo ERCP under monitored anesthesia care (MAC).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria: Patients who lack the capacity to provide informed consent, or are complicated with severe hepatorenal dysfunction, cardiopulmonary insufficiency, or neurocognitive disorders (with Mini-Mental State Examination, MMSE score 180 mmHg, respiratory rate > 25 breaths/min or 120 beats/min or 28 kg/m²; patients with an expected surgical duration exceeding 2 hours; patients judged by the attending physician as unsuitable for participation in the study.
